TIGER CRUISE - IT'S GRRRRREAT! |
| Last summer, I went to San Jose, then to San Diego to go on a Tiger Cruise on the USS Carl Vinson with my dad. When I found out I could go I was excited! I thought it would be exciting to go sailing on the Carl Vinson for four days.I was anxious when I got there. I didn't know what would happen. We bought the tickets to go on, and then we walked on. We found my bunk, and then we went to my dad's office. My bunk was big enough for me, but I think it would be crowded for a grown-up. Dad's office was very small. It only fit three people next to each other in it. It's designed for one person and one computer. It has to be small for the ship so it can fit in a lot of offices. My dad works on computers. After seeing the office, we went to eat.I wasn't afraid on the cruise because I rock climb so I was not afraid of falling. When we were out on the ocean, it was a little taller than a two-story house. The wind on the ocean once went 60 knots per hour. The ship sat still because it is so big and it was going only 20 knots per hour.I saw every kind of knot, even an anchor. We went to the back of the ship and saw the screws. They were cool! They can push that big giant aircraft carrier. When we pulled into Bremerton, I was inside the ship. The doors opened and closed, and there was a walkway. We got off, went in the car, and went home. This was the best trip of my life! I would like to try a different adventure with my dad someday because I like to do new things, and I love my dad.

| Don't Miss: My favorite part of the cruise was when they shot the bullets, and it skipped like a rock on the water. There were a whole bunch of them, and they had a light on the back so we could see them. It was a little dark. They were shot out of missile launchers. Another thing I liked on the cruise was having time with my dad. And playing a game on the laptop with my friend, Philip. We didn't get to see dad for a very long time because he was on a 6-month cruise. He went around the world, including Afghanistan. In Afghanistan, he stayed on the ship and made sure no bad guys got there. I missed him a lot. I was happy to spend time with just me and my dad. |

| Don't Bother: We ate in two places. One place had a giant screen TV. I liked mostly all of the food, except the hot dogs. Bleccch! I don't think it was the kind we normally eat. My dad's friend, Mr. Swan, liked them. And I hated the crab legs. They were as big as your arm. They were Alaskan king crab legs. I didn't try them because I thought they would taste disgusting. I had ice cream after that. I had chocolate and cherry, separately. Do you have a recommendation for a travelogue? Email us and let us know |
