P.E. ACTIVITIES FOR HOMESCHOOLERS

*Armstrong Fitness Homeschool Fitness Program From 10am-11am or 2pm-3pm (M-F) your homeschool student can come to Armstrong Fitness University in Poulsbo (on Viking Way) to work out using their training facility. A professional athletic trainer will be on staff to assess each child's body composition, help design a specific training program to accomplish their fitness goals, and teach safety and exercise techniques. $18.50 a month, per child. *Gymnastics for Homeschoolers Silverdale. 2:00-3:00 pm at Olympic Gymnastics. $62.50 per 5 week session. Phone 698-7709 for further information.

*Homeschool Skate at Skateland Always the LAST Tuesday of the month from 1:00-3:00. Cost: $3.00 per person and this includes skate rental. *Miracle Ranch H.O.R.S.E. (Homeschool Outdoor Recreation and Science Education) Grades 4 - 12. Christian Horsemanship, Animal Science, Archery, Cooking, Homemaking, Golf, Marksmanship and more. Classes are 8 weeks, 2 hours long. Price increased to $160 per class.

Bowling - a brief overview of the bowling alleys in the area.

Bremerton Power Squadron Boat Smart safety course offered on-site for $25 or on-line for free.

Hurricane Ridge - Snowshoeing with the rangers (weather permitting through the end of March). Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. $5 per person charge. Parking is $10. Small tubing and sledding area (n/c).

KBH Archers

Kitsap Juniors Volleyball Club Junior Olympic Development club with members from Bainbridge to Belfair. Teams begin with U12 and go through 18.

Kitsap Mountaineers An outdoor recreation club that meets to enjoy the region's many recreational opportunities. Open to all ages. Includes training, safety, and skill classes.

Kitsap Rifle & Revolver Club: Junior Shooting Program A .22 caliber and air rifle competition-level shooting club. For children 12+ (younger children possibly accepted on case-by-case basis.) KRRC's range is located just North of Camp Wesley Harris on Seabeck Highway NW. 360-373-1007.

Kitsap Saddle Club Port Orchard Promoting good horsemanship and good sportsmanship. Family memberships.

Liekarringen Dancers Folk dancing for families. Meets on Monday nights at the Sons of Norway. Minimal fee ($2). For more information, phone Lisa at 692-7151. They also sponsor seasonal family folk dances.

Mason County Kayak Club For experienced kayakers of all ages.

North Kitsap LaCrosse
Open to all boys through 18 years of age. Meets in Poulsbo.

Olympic Outdoor Center Kayaking and watersports. Summer camps for kids.

Peninsula Wilderness Club
East Bremerton. Connecting those who hike, cross country ski, and participate in other outdoor activities with like-minded individuals.

Poulsbo Piranhas Swim Team A year-round competitive team of all different levels. Minimum practice requirement = two days per week.

Rhapsody Ride Around Puget Sound An annual two-day, 165-mile bike ride held in late August. Families welcome!

Tae Kwan Do Port Orchard. Classes for ages 7+ offered by the family pastor of First Christian Church. $25/mo for the first child; $20/mo for the second. Contact David Clarke at (360) 874-0751.

Therapeutic Horseback Riding Blue Heron Farm, Noll Road Wednesdays, ongoing. Call Mike for information, 779-9898. Held at the Recreation Center. Free of charge for physically and/or emotionally challenged young people ages 3 and up. With the help of quality volunteers, they learn to ride horseback.

Washington Trails Association The premier hiking club in the Northwest. A lot of opportunities for volunteer trail maintenance, and may scheduled hikes.

West Sound Cycling Club Meets 1st Monday of the month at Silverdale Round Table Pizza. Promotes safe riding opportunities for all ages. Family-oriented.
