Minority Homeschooling

Parents across the country are recognizing the benefits of homeschooling. One of the fastest growing segments of homeschooling is among black families. Here are some resources that are tailored specifically to black and other homeschooling minorities.

Nationwide

African-American Homeschoolers' Network - Atlanta based networking group with a mission to support The Girls Institute of Science and Technology in Ghana.
Black Alliance for Educational Options - Information on all educational choices for the black American.
Black Homeschoolers' Network - Nationwide roll call for black home educators to meet one another.
National African-American Homeschoolers Alliance - An inclusive and tolerant organization seeking to provide information specific to black homeschoolers throughout the nation.
National Black Home Educators Resource Association - Christian association offering mentoring, resource listings, support, and connections with local homeschoolers.

Area-Specific

Baltimore-Washington African-American Homeschoolers Networking, news, and announcement portal for all support groups in the area.
DFW BLACKboard - Inclusive (including government school) group that meets for enrichment and support of black children in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
Ebony Homeschoolers - Decidedly Christian support group open to people of all colors in the Memphis area.
Heritage Homeschoolers - Exclusively Christian support group for the greater Atlanta area.

The Homeschool Hut - An Afro-centric Bronx support group.
North Carolina African-American Homeschoolers Statewide group seeking to disseminate information and bring NC homeschoolers of color together.
